Política de privacidad

Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

Iñaki Nieto (TruckerPassGps), tax ID 73460801C, address Calle Virgen del Soto, 8, Pamplona (Navarra), España. Contact TruckerPassGps@gmail.com for any matter about your data.

2. What data we process

• Location: used while the app is open, to show you on the map, calculate routes, guide you and warn you about restrictions. If you allow "All the time", it is also used with the screen off or in another app, but ONLY while you navigate a route (you will see a permanent notification); when the route ends it stops. We do not store your journey on our servers.

• What you publish: Truckers Channel alerts and parking reports, with their location and your nickname.

• Driver registration: full name, nickname, phone number, driving licence category and, if you provide it, your number plate. Only the nickname is visible to other users.

• Photo of your CPC card or tachograph driver card: only to check that you are a professional driver. It is kept in a private folder that only the TruckerPass team can access and is deleted as soon as it has been checked. The first check is done automatically by an artificial intelligence system (see section 4); if it is unsure, a person checks it.

• Your account: an identifier created by the app, your verification status, your points, points history and redeemed coupons.

• Technical error data: error message, screen, app version and phone type, to fix problems.

• Suggestions and problems you send us: your message, the screenshot if you add one, the screen, app version and phone type. Only the TruckerPass team reads them, to improve the app, and they are deleted when you delete your account.

• Stored only on your phone (we do not receive them): your vehicles, tachograph log, last route, downloaded fuel stations, your expenses and tolls, and photos of receipts, delivery notes and CMRs. They only leave your phone if you send them (for example the PDF to your company) or if cloud backup is switched on.

• Cloud backup (can be switched off in Expenses and Papers): your expenses and photos of receipts and delivery notes are kept in a private folder that only your account can access.

• "Still there?" votes: we store which alerts you confirm or deny to count votes and detect false alerts. Others only see the number of votes, not who voted.

• Recovery code: we only store an encrypted fingerprint of the code, never the code itself.

• Reviews of customers and loading docks: the place, its location, your rating and comment. Others see them with your nickname.

• Friends on the road: the friends you add with their code see your nickname. Only if you switch on "Share my position with my friends", we store every 2 minutes your latest position, speed, destination, arrival time and the parking where you will spend the night, and only those friends can see it. Switching it off deletes it; positions older than 2 days are deleted automatically.

• Invitations: we store your code, who invited you and whom you have invited, to award the points.

• Shared location: only if you switch it on and for the time you choose, we store your latest position, speed, destination and arrival time so that whoever has your link can see it. When it ends it is no longer visible.

• Height and weight limits you report or confirm: the type, the value, the place where you were and the date. Others see the limit and how many drivers confirm it, but not who.

• Pass-through check (to prevent cheating): if your account is verified, while you use the app we store a point roughly every 100 m along your way (position, speed and time). It is only used to check that you really passed a height or weight limit, a fuel station, a parking, an alert or a customer before reporting or rating it or earning points for it. Nobody else sees it and it is deleted automatically after 3 hours. Before it is deleted, we only record ANONYMOUSLY that "a truck passed through this ~1 km area on this day" (with a fingerprint that changes every day, without your name or account), to count how many trucks pass each area and show it to fuel stations and service areas; it is deleted after 180 days. Fuel station ratings ("a truck fits / does not fit") store the station, your vote and the date. Answers to "Is there space?" at car parks store the car park, your answer and the time; others only see the result without your name, and they are deleted after 70 days. To improve the app we also record ANONYMOUSLY (with the same fingerprint that changes every day) which screens are opened and which first steps are completed, once a day per item; it is deleted after 180 days. If you send a suggestion or bug report, we store your message, the screen, the app version, the phone model, the screenshot if you add one and, only if you tick it, your approximate location.

• Duplicate cards: when your CAP or tachograph card is checked we only store an encrypted fingerprint of its number (not the number itself), so the same card cannot be used for several accounts. This fingerprint is kept even if you delete your account.

• Expiry dates of your cards and documents: stored only on your phone to remind you.

• Voice: speech recognition ("Oye Trucker") is done by your phone's system (Google or Apple); we do not store that audio.

• Voice channel: only if you use it and hold the button to talk, we store your audio message with your nickname and the place you spoke from, so that drivers within 30 km can hear it for 30 minutes. It is removed from the channel within 1 day. Theft and breakdown reports are shown for 30 days and 6 hours respectively.

3. Purposes and legal basis

• Providing the service you ask for (navigation, community, points and coupons): performance of the terms of use you accept.

• Checking that you are a professional driver so that alerts are reliable: legitimate interest in the safety of the community and performance of the terms of use.

• Accessing your location: your consent, given through the phone permission, which you can withdraw in the settings.

• Detecting errors, preventing points fraud and keeping the service secure: legitimate interest.

• Anonymous usage statistics and counts of trucks passing each area: legitimate interest in improving the app and funding it through partners. They are aggregated figures that cannot identify you.

We do not sell your data or use it for personalised advertising. We never give partners data about any driver: only overall figures (for example, how many trucks pass an area per day).

4. Who else receives data

• Supabase (servers in Frankfurt, European Union): stores your driver record, the document photo until it is checked, your account, points, alerts, reports and errors, as a data processor.

• Anthropic (Claude, artificial intelligence): receives the photo of your card and your name only to check the document, and the photo of a receipt only if you tap "Receipt photo" to fill in an expense (it is not stored on our server), as a data processor. By contract it does not use this data to train its models. This may involve a transfer to the USA covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

• Map and routing services based on OpenStreetMap (OpenFreeMap, FOSSGIS/Valhalla, OSRM, Overpass API and Komoot Photon): they receive the coordinates needed to draw the map, calculate the route or search for places, without your identity.

• Fuel prices and weather: the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition, data.economie.gouv.fr (France), DGEG (Portugal), E-Control (Austria) and Open-Meteo receive the area or points of your route, without your identity.

• Other users: they see your alerts, reports and reviews with your nickname.

• Partners: when you redeem a coupon they see the code and coupon type, not your identity.

• Expo (USA): delivers app updates; it receives technical data from the phone (IP address, system and app version), not your account. The transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

• Google (Gmail): only if you email us, it receives your message so we can reply.

• Authorities: only if a law or a court requires it.

5. How long

The document photo is deleted as soon as it has been checked (approved or rejected). Everything else, while you have an account. You can delete your reports at any time, and deleting your account removes all your data from our servers (except the encrypted card fingerprint, to prevent duplicate accounts). Error logs are kept without your identifier for at most 1 year, and suggestions for at most 2 years. If an account has not been used for 2 years, we may delete it after notifying you in the app or by email.

5a. Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored on servers in the European Union with restricted access. Photos of documents and receipts are stored in private folders. If there were a security breach affecting you, we would tell you and report it to the Spanish Data Protection Agency as the law requires.

5b. Partner data

If your business is a partner, we process the business name, the contact person, their email and phone, the PIN and coupon redemptions, to provide the service and invoice (performance of the contract and tax obligations). Invoices are kept for the period required by law (6 years).

6. Your rights

If the automatic check rejects your card, you can take the photo again or ask for a person to check it by writing to TruckerPassGps@gmail.com, and give your point of view. You can access, correct, delete and take away your data (portability), object to or restrict its use. In the app: My Profile → Privacy and legal → "Download my data" and "Delete my account". Or write to TruckerPassGps@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the authority in your country.

7. Age

The app is for professional drivers aged 18 or over. It is not aimed at minors and we do not knowingly process data of minors.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will tell you in the app. Last updated: octubre de 2026.

Terms of use

1. What TruckerPass GPS is

A navigation aid and community app for professional drivers, offered by Iñaki Nieto (TruckerPassGps) (tax ID 73460801C, Calle Virgen del Soto, 8, Pamplona (Navarra), España, TruckerPassGps@gmail.com). By using it you accept these terms.

1a. Test version

The app is in a test phase (beta). It may have errors, change or stop working for a while. Please tell us what goes wrong with the bug button or at TruckerPassGps@gmail.com.

1b. Free for drivers

The app is free for drivers. It is funded by partner businesses (fuel stations, service areas, restaurants, car parks, truck washes, workshops…) that pay to be featured. Partners are always identified: a gold star on the map and the word "partner" on screen and in the voice. How results are ranked: searches and stops are ranked by distance, by whether they suit your truck (height, weight, access) and by your driving time; all else being equal, a partner may appear first, always marked as a partner. Paying does not make the app ignore your truck's dimensions: the route to a partner is checked like any other.

1c. Registration and verification

You can try the map, routes and tools without registering. To use the community features you must register with real data. To publish alerts, report parkings and redeem coupons you must verify that you are a professional driver with your CPC card or tachograph driver card. We may refuse or withdraw verification if the data is not correct or if false alerts are published.

2. Safe use

Use the app with the phone in a holder and do not handle it while driving. Always comply with the traffic rules of each country.

3. Guidance information

Routes, clearances, maximum weights and dimensions, driving bans, fuel stations, parkings and tachograph calculations are based on public data (mainly OpenStreetMap) and on what users contribute, as are fixed speed cameras, fuel prices, journey times with live animals, notes about special transport permits or vehicles over 18.75 m, allowances and waiting-time claim estimates. They may be incomplete, wrong or out of date and are not legal advice. Road signs, traffic officers, current regulations and the official tachograph of the vehicle always prevail. The driver alone is responsible for choosing the route and complying with driving and rest times.

4. What users publish

Alerts and reports must be truthful and useful. Insults, illegal content, advertising and other people's personal data (number plates, names, photos) are not allowed. Warning of police checks or the location of officers is not allowed either: the app does not accept it and such alerts are deleted. We may remove content and accounts that break these rules. Each user is responsible for what they publish.

4a. Reporting content and complaints

If you see a false or illegal alert, report, review or voice message, mark it as "Not there" or write to TruckerPassGps@gmail.com saying which one and why. We review what we receive as soon as possible. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we will tell you why, and you can complain at TruckerPassGps@gmail.com: a person will review it. Point of contact for authorities and users (Digital Services Act): TruckerPassGps@gmail.com, in Spanish or English.

5. Points and coupons

They are governed by the Points and coupons rules that you can read in the app.

6. Availability

We work to keep the app running at all times, but we cannot guarantee that it will be available without interruptions or errors, especially when it depends on coverage or third-party services.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Iñaki Nieto (TruckerPassGps) is not liable for damage resulting from the use of guidance information, lack of coverage, failures of third-party services or driving decisions, nor for what other users publish. Offers and coupons are the responsibility of each partner. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law or excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

8. Intellectual property

The name TruckerPass GPS, the logo and the design of the app belong to Iñaki Nieto (TruckerPassGps). Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL licence); other licences are listed in the Licences section.

8a. Leaving

You can stop using the app and delete your account whenever you want (My Profile → Privacy and legal → Delete my account). We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, explaining why.

9. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts of your place of residence. The Spanish version prevails. Last updated: octubre de 2026.
